Logistics

Destination: Portland International Airport (PDX)

Local Travel: We strongly recommend using light rail from the airport to downtown Portland.  The trip takes approximately 20 minutes, and costs less than $4.00. 

You will not need a car during the program days unless you have other local travel needs. During the day, the group will travel together to local sites and venues using transit, shuttles and limited walking. We will recommend hotels and dinner restaurants accessible by transit and short walks.

Early Arrival: For those arriving early, a welcoming reception will be held on Sunday, July 20 at 6:00 PM in downtown Portland.

Program Start: Monday, July 21, 2008
7:30 AM Registration. Light breakfast available. 
8:00 AM Welcome and start.

Program End: 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2008 

Program Location: Each day we will gather at a different downtown venue before launching into that day’s program.

Daily Schedule:

  • 8AM - Convene. Light breakfast (fruit, pastries, juice and coffee) will be available, or you may choose to eat earlier.
  • Lunch - Provided.
  • 4–6 PM - Facilitated discussion on the day’s experiences, speakers, findings and applications.  Ad hoc sub-group discussions will then be formed for deeper focus based on interest areas.
  • Dinner - Open. Recommendations will be provided.
